July is one of the busiest months for UK pilgrims. School holidays and annual leave mean flights and hotels fill up faster than any other month. Booking early gives you better choices and lower prices.
Why 6 Nights in Makkah and 6 Nights in Madinah
Many agencies split 12 nights unevenly. Some give you 7 or 8 nights in Makkah and only 4 in Madinah. We use an equal split of 6 and 6 for one simple reason.
In July, Makkah is extremely hot. Temperatures regularly exceed 42°C during the day. The walking route between your hotel and the Haram is mostly exposed to direct sun. After 5 or 6 days, most pilgrims have completed their Umrah, performed multiple Tawaf, and prayed many Salah inside Masjid al-Haram. The additional days in Makkah beyond that often become harder to use productively because of the heat.
Madinah in July is slightly cooler, typically between 36°C and 40°C. The area around Al-Masjid an-Nabawi is more shaded and easier to walk. Pilgrims generally find the last few days in Madinah more physically comfortable and spiritually peaceful.
Based on feedback from pilgrims we supported in July 2024 and July 2025, the 6 and 6 split was the most commonly preferred arrangement. Pilgrims who had previously done 8 and 4 splits told us they wished they had more time in Madinah.
