we believe the “distance to Haram” can be a misleading metric when talking about hotels in Madinah. What matters is which gate you use.
The Pullman Zamzam is situated on the South Side of the Prophet’s Mosque. For many, this is the absolute best location in Madinah. For others, it requires a tactical plan. Here is the breakdown:
The Men’s Advantage vs. The Women’s Walk
- For Men: This hotel is a powerhouse. You are mere minutes from the front of the mosque. If you time your departure correctly before the Adhan starts, you can secure a spot behind the Imam with ease.
- For Women: Be aware that the women’s entrances are primarily located on the North and West sides. Staying at the Pullman means a longer walk across the courtyard to reach the ladies’ sections. If you are travelling with elderly women or children, we will help you calculate if this walk is manageable or if a North-side hotel is a better fit.
The Rawdah & Baqi Connection
The true “hidden” value of the Pullman is its proximity to the Rawdah (Riyadh al-Jannah) and the Al-Baqi cemetery. If your priority is frequent visits to the Prophet’s grave and the companions, you cannot find a more convenient home base.
The “Courtyard Reality”
Look at our Integrated Location Map above. You’ll notice the hotel is right at the edge. However, remember that to pray behind the Imam, you must cross the open courtyard. In peak crowds, this “short walk” takes longer than you think. We recommend leaving your room 15 minutes before Adhan.
Dining & Shopping
The hotel is flanked by a brand new, futuristic mall and museum. While the architecture is stunning, the food experience is “mid”, but plenty of options available.
Our Pro Tip: Step across the main road behind the hotel. You’ll find a denser concentration of authentic Indian and Pakistani eateries and specialised date shops that offer better quality and value.
