August continues to be one of the easiest months for UK families to travel for Umrah. School holidays line up well, so parents do not need to remove children from school. Many families also use this time for their yearly leave.
Over the past five years we have organised more than 200 August departures. This experience shows us exactly what changes in the warm weather and how families can stay comfortable.
Temperatures in Makkah reach 41 to 43 degrees Celsius most afternoons in August. Madinah stays between 39 and 42 degrees. The hottest part of the day runs from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm.
In August 2025, we surveyed 54 groups and found that families who rested in their rooms during these hours returned for evening prayers with far more energy. They also avoided the tiredness that comes from walking in full heat. We recommend light cotton clothes, a small reusable water bottle, and a simple hat.
As, England and Wales schools close from 20 July to 2 September. Scotland finishes on 25 June and restarts on 18 August. Northern Ireland schools break from 1 July to 31 August.
Most of the families choose the last two weeks of July or the first three weeks of August. These weeks give the best balance of lower flight prices and good hotel availability.
We only use hotels that we have personally visited and assessed to ensure they meet our standards. For August, we offer three main package options to suit different needs and budgets.
Our 3 Star Package is ideal for larger families looking for a more affordable option, with hotels around 12–18 minutes’ walk from the Haram. A sample hotel is Emaar Al Khalil, located approximately 800 metres from the Haram.
Our 4 Star Package is designed for families who prefer extra comfort and a shorter walking distance. Hotels are typically around 5–9 minutes from the Haram, such as Emaar Grand, located approximately 600 metres away.
Our 5 Star Package is best suited for elderly travellers or those who want the easiest access with minimal walking. These hotels are usually around 2–5 minutes from the Haram, with options such as Hilton Makkah, located approximately 280 metres away.
Our team walked every route in August 2025 with a stopwatch. Here are the results:
In Madinah, we place almost every group within 600 metres of the Prophet’s Mosque. Every hotel we use has working lifts and family rooms with extra beds.
Families who stayed less than 600 metres from the Haram reported 67 percent less heat-related tiredness. Groups with elderly members almost always chose the 5 star option and said the extra cost was worth the saved energy.
One family of five from Birmingham took our 4 star package. Their total cost came to £795 per person for 10 nights including everything. They stayed at the Emaar Grand in Makkah and told us the short walk let them pray five times a day without feeling exhausted.
Every August package covers these items without hidden fees:
Some packages also include a guided ziyarah tour in Makkah and Madinah. We confirm every detail in writing before you pay.
Book before 15 July and receive a free ziyarah tour. This offer applies only to new bookings made through our team.
Tell us your preferred travel dates, how many people are travelling, and any special needs such as elderly relatives or young children. We will reply within 2 hours with two or three clear options and exact prices.
There is no pressure to book immediately. We answer every question and help you compare the choices until you feel confident.
